Meet Dr. Ryan B. Lee
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Serving The Quad Cities
Dr. Ryan Lee grew up in Muscatine, Iowa. He attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL for undergraduate studies. There he received multiple honors including induction into the Aristeia Honor Society while completing his studies in biology as well as pre-medicine; while being employed full-time outside of school.
Dr. Lee entered the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in the fall of 2005 and graduated in 2009 with his D.D.S. degree.
During all four years, he was actively involved in research pertaining dental implants including surface modification of dental implants to increase bone adaptation and evaluation of bone healing using Micro-CT imaging. He graduated with several honors including the Iowa Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Student Award, and was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental fraternity.
Dr. Lee entered his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in July 2009. He trained at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Iowa City, as well as operating at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry Oral Surgery Clinic. During residency he continued his research interest in the area of methods to secure airways in patients suffering from facial burns. Dr. Lee is a member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the American Dental Education Association. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Outside of work, his personal interests include spending time with his wife Lacy and their children: Madelyn, Clara, and Atticus. Other interests include outdoor activities, and playing and enjoying music.
